Who We Are
Image Share for Tumblr is an independent browser extension produced by Paul Nicholson and is not affiliated with Tumblr, Flickr, Instagram, 500px, DeviantArt, Google, or any other entity.
Data We Collect
The extension does not collect personal data for analytics, advertising, or resale.
The extension processes only the data needed to perform user-requested posting actions, including:
- Tumblr API credentials and tokens created during OAuth sign-in
- Extension settings chosen by the user (such as default tags and last selected blog)
- Image URL and page metadata (for example title, creator name, description, tags) from the page where the user activates the extension
How Data Is Used
Data is used only to provide extension functionality, including:
- Authenticating the user with Tumblr
- Preparing post content in the share dialog
- Sending posts to Tumblr only when the user confirms submission
- Saving local preferences for convenience
Where Data Is Stored
Data is stored locally in the user’s browser extension storage. Image Share for Tumblr does not operate a remote server for storing user data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
When the user submits a post, relevant post content and authentication data are sent to Tumblr through Tumblr’s API as required to publish, queue, or draft the post.
Third-Party Services
This extension interacts with third-party services only as required for its core function:
- Tumblr API for authentication and posting
- Web pages the user visits, only when the user invokes sharing features
- Use of third-party platforms is governed by those platforms’ own privacy policies and terms.
Data Retention
Data stored locally remains until the user removes it, changes it, uninstalls the extension, or clears extension storage.
Users can revoke Tumblr access at any time from their Tumblr account settings.
User Choices and Control
Users can:
- Choose whether to sign in to Tumblr
- Edit or remove generated captions and tags before posting
- Uninstall the extension at any time
- Clear browser extension data through browser settings
Children’s Privacy
This extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
